Western peninsula

Driving on the western peninsula can be considered as medicine. I only made it to Isafjördur this time, counting 700klms in one day on route 61, but the scenery is unforgettable and still haunts me.
As you drive west, you are approaching the place with the filthiest weather on Iceland, Bolungarvik, so beware...

There is nothing to entertain you on the road apart from the lovely scenery, and your music. As you start driving west, leaving the main highway from Reykjavik to Akureyri, Reykjanes is almost midway to stretch your legs and watch whales from the shore, if you get lucky.

Do fill your car tank before you set off! Some petrol stations on your way do not accept foreign credit cards. You may be able to fill up only in Isafjördur, and it is quite far away.

Holmavik and the best rainbow of my life deserve a separate video...
